Sound the Kayaks!

While in Whittier, we decided to kayak across Prince William Sound to check out the bird rookery! It was great fun and a good work out! So here comes the photo session!

We look so GOOD!

Cheeser!

Here are some great shots we were able to capture while riding the waves!
Waterfall! TLC anyone?

Glacier!

Whittier with giant glacier looming! See that large building? That is the building everyone lives in. Hello Russian 80's. And yes, that is helicopter hovering over the water! Check it!
I had this whole scenario played out in my head for why the coast guard was hanging out but it turns out they were all wrong. It was just a practice exercise. Lame for sure.

But we did see birds! Lots of them!

And baby birds! Kathryn said I needed to tag all these birds especially the ones kissing as our friend Nina and...
I said it was bird brain island, meaning yup, could still tag everyone!

But it wasn't all fun and games! There was a predator! Eagle! Eagle! Bird of war!

It sent the birds flying! Such a little guy!

So yes, we went kayaking! Always such a good time! I wish I had more of an exciting tale to tell but sadly it was fairly uneventful. Unfortunately, our darling Ashley discovered she gets sea-sick quite easily and I discovered I really am the mule of the group (see photo above where I am at the back of the kayak), but other than that it was smooth sailing!

And surprisingly, we all managed to not get crapped on by any of the birds at bird brain island unlike my dear old friend Megan Potokar in California.
Oh good memories.
